Dressings and Sauces
Here's some dressings and sauces for salads, bread, or whatever else you can think of. If there's no directions on how to mix it, just assume you can put all the ingredients in a jar and shake them up.
French Dressing:
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup avocado oil
- Pinch of paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt
Blue Cheese Dressing:
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp worcestershire sauce
- Pinch of garlic granules, salt, and pepper
- 5 oz crumbled blue cheese
Creamy Mediterranean Dressing Ingredients:
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 small garlic clove, minced or grated
- Italian seasoning, greek seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Spicy Cheese Dip
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 slices American cheese
- 2 tbsp white cheddar, shredded
- 1 tsp pickle brine (preferably jalapeño brine if you’ve got it)
- Pinch of cayenne pepper red chili flakes, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder
- Salt only if needed (American is usually salty enough)
Directions:
- Heat the milk in a small saucepan until steaming (not boiling)
- Whisk in the American cheese gradually until smooth
- Stir in the cheddar, letting it fully melt in
- Mix in the pickle brine, cayenne, and garlic powder. Taste and adjust seasoning
- If too thick, add a splash of milk. If too thin → simmer gently for a minute
